Fostering the
contemporary culture
The cultural agency ‘Art Gene’ currently specializes primarily in contemporary music. Despite this focus, we implement innovative, long-term projects across various cultural and artistic sectors, unrestricted by specific art forms or activities. We target areas that demand fresh, unique perspectives.

Since 2014, each autumn in Vilnius, the festival ‘Muzika erdvėje’—the only event in Lithuania dedicated to site-specific contemporary music—takes place. This festival sees composers exploring the intricate connections between music, architecture, and the environment, as well as the specific contexts of various locations, while also drawing public attention to pertinent societal issues.
The special event series, part of the official Vilnius 700th anniversary program in 2023, brought together some of the most world-renowned contemporary composers, such as Michael Gordon, Toshio Hosokawa, Agata Zubel, and Heiner Goebbels, among others. These artists were commissioned to create new compositions dedicated to selected locations in Vilnius.

We represent and manage the Chordos String Quartet, one of Lithuania’s oldest and most influential contemporary music ensembles. In 2024, the quartet received the prestigious Culture and Art Prize from the Government of Lithuania.
We represent and manage ‘Synaesthesis,’ an emerging contemporary music ensemble that received the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation Ensemble Prize in 2022.
For five years, we have been the communication partners for the ‘Music Autumn’ festival, dedicated to contemporary Lithuanian music. We manage all aspects of the festival’s publicity—from shaping its identity to handling marketing and sales.
Since 2023, as communications partners, we have served at the Jonas Mekas Visual Arts Center, managing all aspects of communications.
